Made in the UK with 100% recycled paper. The 2-ply sheets contain no inks, dyes or scents and is a great alternative to the plastic wrapped packets of normal toilet paper.
Bamboo vs. Recycled Paper is a hot debate in the eco toilet paper world. Although bamboo is sustainably grown, it can't easily be grown in western nations, therefore adding significant airmiles to manufacturing ingredients, or the finished product. Recycled paper, on the other hand, requires water to process and needs bleached (in BoxRoll's case, using a natural oxygen bleaching process) due to the mixed colours of the recycled paper.
On much reflection, we have decided that BoxRoll give us a good balance of ecological sustainability, and a surprisingly rare chance to buy toilet paper with minimal packaging, i.e. only in the boxes of 24 rather than individually wrapped. We think this is one of the best low-emission options for toilet roll that we can find.
They are manufactured at a Tissue Mill in North Wales and then converted into the BoxRoll product in the East Midlands and shipped to us in large quantities.
