Capers are a versatile store cupboard ingredient, that gives simple meals a fresh punch of flavour.
Capers are simply the pickled flower buds of the caper bush, which grows wild all over the Mediterranean. They have a tangy, bitter flavour that adds sharpness to many sauces such as Tartare sauce.
Perfect as a garnish for fish or meat, as an ingredient for a tapenade or simply adding a salty flavour to salads, as a pizza topping or sprinkled over pasta dishes.
These Capers come in saltwater so wash before use.
