Seedball was founded by conservation scientists in 2013 who wanted to make growing wildflowers as simple, effective, and wildlife-friendly as possible. Their seed balls consist of UK-native wildflower seeds encased in a mixture of clay, peat-free compost, and a touch of chilli powder — a natural formula which protects the seeds from pests like birds and slugs until the right conditions trigger germination.

Based in the UK, Seedball takes sustainability seriously. All of their products are manufactured domestically, and their packaging is made from 100% recycled cardboard or recyclable tin made in London using solar-powered production. 

Their wildflower seeds are responsibly sourced from Flora Locale–accredited suppliers, and they use only peat-free compost in their clay balls to reduce environmental impact.
